The F.D.A approved what? Yes F.D.A declared that the food from cloned animals and offspring is safe to eat. The decision was made because farmers were pushing the F.D.A. to research and confirm that it( cloned animal food) was safe to eat.
On one hand, that is a major development because that would produce meat, milk and other animal products that will be at the best quality. The products of a cloned animal are wanted from many farmers and cloning companies as a way to turn cloning in to a agricultural tool. "This is a milestone" said Mark Walton. Although it might take up to a decade for the products of the cloned animals to reach grocery stores in an appreciable quantities. However Bruce I. Knight said it was his goal to make this procedure in months rather than in years.
But on the other, many people are protesting on the fact that they will eat meat that was produced form the hand of man and not the hand of God. And other scientist like Sthephen Sundlof, director of the F.D.A. said that the food in "indigestible" from that of conventional bred animals. Not all farm animal products are okay to clone, bred and sell the products, for example sheep, because the data is unclear weather it is safe to eat.
